Will Ferrell

Back in the late 1990s when ''Saturday Night Live'' (SNL) still had good writers and comedic talent, the country was introduced to Will Ferrell. This tall, curly haired actor, comedian, and writer entertained viewers for seven years with his on-point impersonations and portrayal of infamous characters such as Spartan cheerleader Craig, a Roxbury brother, and Gene Frenkle. SNL was just a launching pad for what would become a successful film and comedic writing career found on the big screen and all over the Internet.

Growing Up Ferrell

If you've ever wondered where Will Ferrell got his funny bone, you can give your noggin a break. This native of Irvine, California was born in 1967 and graduated from the University of Southern California (USC) with a degree in Sports Information. But don't think that Ferrell suddenly fell into the world of comedy and acting. The now 42old star attributes his humor and stage presence to growing up in desolate suburbia. According to Ferrell, there wasn't much to do but to entertain yourself and your friends; with this, he crafted his art.

SNL and Beyond!

Although he performed with the comedy group, Ferrell's fledgling career received a massive jolt after landing a recurring spot on SNL. The stint lasted for seven years, but made Ferrell a household name and a comedic genius. He portrayed everyone from crooner Robert Goulet to former US Attorney General Janet Reno to that crazy mothergoing brothers, that Ferrell got his big screen break. He later went on to appear in other small roles, but finally starred in a feature role in ''Old School''. Since then, Ferrell has acted in numerous movies and now rakes in $40 million per flick. However, in 2009 Forbes listed Ferrell as Hollywood's most overpaid actor, stating that the actor makes one dollar for every $3.29 his film earns.
