Camping 8 Person Tents
When camping by yourself or with one other friend, a small
tent can be exactly what you need. However, when you want to bring your whole family along for the trip, a
sleeping bags you won't even feel like you are sleeping outside.
Water Resistant vs. Waterproof
When purchasing a tent, it is important to notice whether it says
water resistant or
waterproof. It makes a big difference, so if you don't want to find yourself sopping wet you should check carefully. Water resistant tents keep you mostly dry, but they are not built to keep the rain out. They tend to leak in heavy rain and if you touch the walls/roof or if you have anything touching it (
pillow,
table, lantern etc.) the exterior lets in the water that has collected on it. Waterproof, on the other hand works to keep water out completely.
Water resistant will work fine in areas that don't get a lot of rainfall or very minimal at any rate. However, if you live in an area where thunderstorms are common you may want to make sure your tent says waterproof otherwise you might find yourself dripping in the morning.
