James Joyce is an Irish novelist widely regarded as one of the most prominent writers in the 20th century. A native of Dublin, Joyce's writings often embody the surrounding landscape. Joyce's anthology consists of a limited number of poems and short stories. He is most well-known, however, for his influential take on the novel. Along with his contemporaries Marcel Proust and Virginia Woolf, he shaped what is considered the modernist novel.
