'''Travel-Friendly Makeup & Toiletries''' In less than two months I'll be travelling half way around the world to meet my beau's family for the first time in Turkey. This means divulging a plan for overhauling my makeup and toiletries arsenal (which is overflowing from the bathroom). I figure that I have to A) get passed airport security and B) have enough supplies to last me for two weeks without looking like I've brought the entire drugstore beauty aisle along with me. When it comes to facing a new climate, new people and who knows what kind of unexpected hair or skin traumas, I am determined to be prepared. After all, my Turkish is not at the level where I'm ready to make an emergency trip to the drugstore to find the right face cleanser. Managing beauty goods in my checked luggage shouldn't be too much of a hassle (I've bought one of the new Colgate Total and a toothbrush. *Sure deodorant is also a decent solid. *Benetint Pocket Pal. *Evian Spray for light moisture. * Solid lotion bar to keep the skin soft in flight. * Blinc Kiss Me Mascara because it will stay on without flaking or smudging no matter how how much I squirm in the airline seat. If you're flying over the holiday season you might want to check out the guide to Gendarme's 7 Sinful Scents since they are so conveniently sized and such a great novelty. Lust, Sloth and Excess are my top picks.

Goth Galore

Halloween is over, so what gives? What has entranced women across the country to don polish'>NYX Black nail polish. Being fair skinned, black is a little too heavy for me making it look more trashy than trendy. However, since I'd rather not be a killjoy, I'm going to give this trend a whirl in my own way, not with jet black, but with a deep dark hue that may as well be black on my skin. I have found a few options that don’t actually require surrendering my next paycheck for the desired look. For one, the famed OPI (which I find to be just as high a quality varnish as the highBrown'>Essie's Downtown Brown works fine and the deep berry burgundy (#11) at Sephora is also quite palatable. On the other end of the spectrum, I have always liked the idea of silvery polish around the holidays, and silver is a blend of black and white, right? OPI's Happy Anniversary are my top picks.
