Standard Ignition Parts
*
Ignition Switch: The key and key lock part that acts as the starter.
*
Battery: The power system of the bike which is normally 12 volt.
*
Spark plugs: This ignites the combustion materials in the engine.
*
Spark plug wires: The wires wrap around the spark plug and connect it to the ignition coil.
*
Ignition coils: The ignition coil boosts the voltage from the spark plug wires.
*
Ignition computers: The computers allow you to control and adjust the ignition timing curves and other signal triggers to your preference.
*
Condensers: Now, it might originally sound counterproductive to reduce the spark but you actually need the condenser because the ignition coil can pit and burn as it builds up to high voltage.
*
Points: These pieces open and shut the cam in the contact breaker.

Iridium spark plugs are more consistent with their ignition.
* "Get wired!": You want a wire that will effectively control radio frequency interence (RFI) because that can affect signal distribution. There are three basic types of wires. A distributed resistance wire is made with a fiberglass and latex graphite core. They allow for maximum RFI suppression. An inductance wire is made with a metal alloy such as copper and nickel. It suppresses using a magnetic field and has less resistance. European cars may use a fixed resistance wire made with either steel or copper.
spark plug sets that come complete with connectors and terminals.
