The rule in any wedding is that no one may look better than the cellophane bags.
Basic Rules
Traditionally, the specific matron designation refers to either a married woman or an older one; as such, some of the more sheath gowns and so on, applies here too.
Fit
Beyond all that, you need to make sure the dress fits. Here are a few tips to make that process a little less painful:
* Dress makers and designers use different size charts. The sooner everyone accepts that, the sooner they can try cake samples.
* Have measurements taken. As with all dresses, the fit is determined by how well the dress fits the widest part of the body, be it stomach, shoulders, butt or bust. The rest can be tailored to fit properly.
* Make sure the dress is tried on with the sort of shoes the matron of honor will be wearing. This well help you figure out the hemline.
* If you absolutely can't find a dress in your size, find the closest fit a size up. It's easier to take a dress in than it is to diet.
