Kyocera FineCam Buying Guide, Stores, and Prices

Kyocera FineCam

While Kyocera doesn't offer many cameras, the cameras they do produce are decent for low-end digital cameras. However, they are faced with some tough competition. See the Digital Camera Buying Guide if you would like to learn more about how to choose a new camera. Note that the prices listed are estimates and are not always the lowest street price available.

LV Series
  • 4.0 megapixel sensor captures enough detail to create photo-quality prints up to 11 x 14 and beyond.
  • Both offer a big 2.5" LCD preview screen, a 16MB internal memory, plus SD memory card support.
  • They both use a 3x optical zoom with the option of using a manual or automatic focus.
  • Neither record video, plus they don't have the fastest flash recovery.
  • Powered by CR-V3 battery. Has poor battery life, despite the lithium battery they use.
SL300R
  • Very cool camera with a unique design.
  • The SL400R  (pictured) was the previous model in this series, running from $200 and up.
  • It is a fast compact digital with a good burst mode for taking continuous shots, but the image quality produced by its 3 megapixel resolution is average.
  • The 2.5" LCD screen however, is definitely worth noting.
  • It has a good range for shooting anything from portraits to sports. It even has a selection of scene modes, including recording video.
  • The only drawback to this camera is that it only has a 3x digital zoom, meaning that there is no possibility for making decent enlargements of your photos.
S5R
  • This is an average snapshot camera with a 5 MP resolution and a 3x optical zoom.
  • It's photo quality is okay, but nothing great. The same goes for its video quality.
  • It offers all the other automatic camera features that you would expect from a standard point and shoot.
  • Has better than average macro ability for a point-and-shoot.
  • One plus is that is has a manual or automatic focus ring.
  • Plus, it's easy for beginners because it has a pop-up flash.
  • The LCD is kind of small.
  • It does do videos and audio.
M410R
  • If you are looking for something with a little bit more power and versatility, this camera should prove to be good value for the money.
  • With a 4MP resolution, electronic viewfinder, and 10x optical zoom lens -- you can't go wrong.
  • Its range is excellent for a digital camera of this caliber.
  • Plus it was designed with a decent grip.
  • Ability to change lenses, record in video mode, and record sound with its built-in microphone.
  • It also has a pop-up flash with various flash modes.
  • Expandible and versatile memory card slots, and settings for adjusting color, white balance, and shooting modes.
  • Two problems: small (1.5" LCD screen) and the fact that it uses 4 AA batteries.
