Hammock Stands and Hanging Hardware
I'll tell the truth: as an advanced user (I'm really, really good at sleeping), I recommend a stand, for safety's sake. You might not be sure about the material integrity of those backyard trees, or even of older posts. However, if you're sure, go for the hanger by all means. After all, hanging between trees is like hammock Zen: it's what hammocks were meant to do. One note: always check what the maximum weight limit is for any stand or hanging hardware and remember to stay below it. (No bowling balls in hammocks, please).
