Stars

by User:cmelgarejo @timeAndDate(1280440425) A few years ago, I saw Death Cab for Cutie in concert. Before they came on stage, a band I had never heard of opened for them. They were from Canada, had a male and female singer, and had trumpet in most of their songs. They were pretty awesome. After the show I found out the name of the band was Stars and they had only just formed in 2000. Since then, they have had only a fair few appearances on television and a couple of songs in various movies, but still make quiet rumblings in the indie community. While not widely known, they do have a loyal following for their unique, sometimes haunting, sometimes upbeat sound and mix of male and female vocals.  They have released various EPs and full length albums.
