Former Audible.com Executive Joins Shopping Search Engine
ShopWiki Recruits Chief Marketing Officer
NEW YORK, NY — September 19, 2006 — ShopWiki (http://www.shopwiki.com), the shopping search engine, has named Shoshana Zilberberg-Winter as the company's first Chief Marketing Officer. Zilberberg-Winter will launch ShopWiki's first major marketing push and oversee the evolution of the shopping search engine's brand identity and user experience.
Zilberberg-Winter, a co-founder of the original social networking site, sixdegrees.com, comes to the company with nearly twenty years of marketing experience, most recently at Audible.com.
"We're excited to have Shoshana help ShopWiki connect consumers with the site that best serves their online shopping needs," said Kevin P. Ryan, ShopWiki CEO. "Her extensive marketing and leadership experiences, combined with her energy, make Shoshana the perfect choice for this position."
Before joining ShopWiki, Zilberberg-Winter acted as lead marketer for Audible.com, where she was responsible for branding and product marketing as well as customer acquisition and retention. Zilberberg-Winter re-branded and repositioned Audible.com and developed a multi-channel acquisition strategy that drove double-digit growth quarter over quarter. Under her leadership, content revenue for the site nearly doubled year over year.
"There couldn't be a more exciting opportunity and challenge for a product marketer than to build out a consumer brand around a product that delivers real consumer value," said Zilberberg-Winter. "I am thrilled to join the talented team that developed the ShopWiki product and I am confident that together we have what it takes to turn ShopWiki into a household name."
Prior to Audible.com, Zilberberg-Winter worked in the e-media group at Cablevision Systems as the Director of Interactive Product Marketing, where she helped to develop the strategies and interactive products that support their core broadband services including Optimum Online and Interactive Optimum.
While Senior Vice President of Marketing for sixdegrees.com, a company she co-founded, Zilberberg-Winter helped the social networking site grow from six to 80 employees and zero to 4 million registrants from 1997 to 2000. Sixdegrees.com was sold in 2000 for $125 million.
Spending her first 10 years in traditional media advertising and public relations, Zilberberg-Winter served as Group PR Director for Snapple at Kirshenbaum Bond + Partners, and worked with other agencies toward building brands that included Bausch & Lomb, Ray Ban and Saratoga Spring Water, among others.
Zilberberg-Winter received a B.A. from New York University.
