ShopWiki Receives $6.2 Million in Funding From Generation Partners

NEW YORK, NY — July 18, 2006 — ShopWiki (http://www.shopwiki.com/), the complete shopping search engine and buying guide, today announced it has completed a $6.2 million round of private equity funding from Generation Partners. John Hawkins, Managing Partner of Generation Partners, will join ShopWiki’s Board of Directors.

“Consumers who want to navigate the full online shopping landscape are quickly discovering ShopWiki, the only shopping search engine to offer products from more than 120,000 stores, innovative search features, and user-driven buying information all in one,” said Kevin Ryan, ShopWiki CEO. “We’ve already had a great response from users and are thrilled that Generation has joined our campaign to build the world’s most complete and consumer-friendly shopping search engine.”

Unlike most shopping search providers, who rely on data feeds from retailers, ShopWiki uses advanced Web crawling and extraction technologies to index products. The site features the Web’s widest selection of stores and more than 1,300 wiki buying guides, as well as highly acclaimed Search by Color technology and user-generated Video Reviews.

"ShopWiki has a great team, proven leadership and innovative technology," added John Hawkins, Generation Partners. “This is a company with a bright future."

New board member John Hawkins was a founder of Generation Partners and has been a Managing Partner since 1995. Prior to founding Generation, Mr. Hawkins was a General Partner of Burr, Egan, Deleage & Co. Hawkins received his MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business in 1986.
