Xbox 360 Games

After an uninspiring launch in October 2005, the Xbox 360  has begun to right the ship with some intriguing new titles. Since the console became readily available in the second quarter of 2006, Microsoft has made headway as the most powerful video game system around, at least until the PlayStation 3  debuts in November 2006. Here's the rundown on the best of the current batch of Xbox 360 titles.Top Rated Video Xbox 360 Games

Games That Spin You Right Round

Burnout Revenge : Forget those pesky trifles society calls "traffic laws." This racer is all about speeding, jumping over railings and slamming the opposition. Sort of like fighting L.A. traffic, only safer.

Call of Duty 3 : Likely the most intense World War II action experience available on any console, Call of Duty puts you in the war zone with graphically intense relish. The level of realism is astounding, but the game is too bloody for kids.

Dead or Alive 4 : Scantily-clad babes do battle in an arena-style throwdown. Jump-kicking away against the computer is fun, but the real action picks up online.

Fight Night Round 3 : With an innovative dual-analog stick punching system, Fight Night's third entry puts you in the gloves of the greatest boxers of today as well as the past, and even has a feature that lets you design your own pugilist. It's most definitely a hit, in more than one sense of the word.

NBA 2K7 : That Steve Nash punk may think he's got game, but luckily this intuitive, fast-paced NBA hoops title is there for you to put the hirsute freak in his place. Do the same to Kobe, LeBron and Shaq, and unlike your other daydreams, you don't have to wake up from this one.

Need for Speed Carbon : The most arcade-riffic of all the 360's racing titles. Get from point A to point B and do it fast. Make like Vin Diesel and hit the checkered flag first or that pink slip is going bye-bye. A must-own for gearheads.

Gears of War : Finally, a killer ap for the Xbox 360. Microsoft brings the thunder with this revolutionary tactical third-person shooter, which lets you blast aliens who are conquering the world. The multiplayer action is hectic and phenomenal.

Project Gotham Racing 3 : Hyper-realistic racing puts you behind the wheel of immaculately recreated vehicles onto real-life road courses. You can see the sun reflecting off your windshield and practically taste the rubber burning off your radials. Not as exciting as the other racing games, but far less silly.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion : A vast, sweeping epic, Oblivion was crafted to stretch the limits of the 360's graphics engine. This is a majestic role-playing game that allows players choose to behave good, evil, or somewhere in between. Oblivion is said to take more than 100 hours to conquer, making this one a solid fit for those with high attention spans.

Top Spin 2 : To get a more comprehensive tennis experience you'll have to streak Wimbledon.

Amped 3 : Bursting with color and kooky innovation, this snowboard-centered winter sports title gets you shredding in bunny suits, jamming to retro 1980s classics and cracking up during the comedic between-stage cut scenes. An excellent buy for fans of downhill action.
