Taking Care of Wedding Guests

The invitations  are out, the RSVPs are in. You've decided on the flowersdecorations and of course, the dress Now it's time to start thinking about your out-of-town guests and how you plan to make their experience a memorable one. Besides the end-of-night wedding favors  and post-wedding thank you cards there are a few other special touches that you need for your out-of-towners. As the bride and groom, it is your responsibility to provide accommodation suggestions and help them feel welcome so here are a few tips that should help you plan.

Shelter and Travel

Well before your guests are set to arrive you need to scout for lodging. This involves a lot of research as you will need to reserve a block of rooms at two to three hotels of varying qualities and price ranges for your guests to choose from. Usually, the more rooms you reserve the better the rate so make sure you account for all the guests who will need accommodations. Also keep in mind that most hotels have a minimum number of rooms you can block (which is usually 10) so if you don't need very many, come up with a plan B. Plan B should include an informational packet about your wedding destination such as a few affordable accommodation options, some brochures and travel guides  with fun activities and sights-to-see and places to visit while they are in town. To make it personal, include some of your own favorites from the area or create an itinerary of things to do just to keep everyone together.
