Taking Care of Wedding Guests

The invitations  are out, the RSVPs are in. The flowers decorations and dresses  are nailed down and in the works. It's time to start thinking about out-of-town guests and how you plan to make their experience a memorable one. Besides the end-of-night wedding favors  and post-wedding thank you cards there are a few other special touches that you need for your out-of-towners. As the bride and groom, it is your responsibility to provide accommodations suggestions and help them feel at home.

First things first: Scouting for lodging. This involves reserving a block of rooms at two to three hotels of varying qualities and price ranges. How many you reserve depends upon how many people are coming. Keep in mind that reserving a block of rooms is cheaper when you have a lot of guests to house, but doing so for a small group is not always possible since most hotels don't offer block rates for less than 10 rooms. If you don't have enough guests interested in spending the night, consider creating an informational packet about your wedding location. It should include accommodation options in the area as well as some brochures for fun things to do or places to visit while they are in town. You might even write up a little itinerary of activities you particularly like and would suggest.

Be sure to see the guide on lodging to get tips about booking hotels online.

Making Them Feel at Home

You should also attend to some other details that will help make guests feel more comfortable and show your appreciation for their travels. Welcome baskets are becoming increasingly popular these days. However, they aren't required.
