There seems to be a lot in the news these days about how unsafe our homes' tap water really is, but at the same time, we're still being called upon to reduce our consumption of
installable water filter in your kitchen.
What Are Water Test Kits Looking For?
There are a few common water impurities that your water test kit should be measuring if it is comprehensible:

chlorine levels: too much chlorine in your water can cause stomach discomfort and eye or ear irritation.

Bacteria: while bacteria will be naturally present in your water, the levels should be low and varied across strains.

Pesticides: these could enter your water supply, especially if you're near a lot of non organic farm land. Pesticide exposure can cause eye or skin irritation in the present or affect the functioning of the nervous or endocrine system of the body later in life.

Sediment or rust: if there are too many heavy particles in your water, this could indicate a failure in the overall neighborhood water treatment system.

Hard water: if water is hard it means it has a high mineral content, while not exactly pure, high mineral content is not considered a serious health risk. You can actually test water hardness by seeing if your toothpaste lathers easily under the faucet. If it does, you have soft water or a low mineral content.
