Valentine's Decorations

Love is in the air and what better way to show it than to decorate your home with the latest Valentine's Day decorations Line the doorway with a curtain  decorated with flowers  and hearts ; it will announce to your valentine or guests that you are celebrating the holiday. Even those without a valentine can still bask in the day's sentiment of love (see Valentine's Day for Singles) by furnishing your home with little reminders of the season.

Doorway

For the romantics, this heart border  is a nice prelude to a candlelit dinner inside.

  • The heart border can be hung along the sides of your front door or bedroom door.
  • You can place it around the tablecloth, be sure it is light-colored because red over red can be severe.
  • The border could also line the walls of your dining room or living room to add more romance to the room.

Betty Boop and polka dot hearts make a charming  Valentine wreath and what says Happy Valentine's day more than "Boop boop be doop!"?

  • This heart-lined wreath can be placed on the front door of a classroom, but be sure not to line it up against other kids' creations its size would overshadow them.
  • The wreath could also be placed on a bulletin board or on your Valentine's wall.
  • Just be sure to hang it in a place where everyone can admire its cute message.

This heartwarming  door curtain  sets the mood for the holiday of love.

  • This door curtain is a lovely way to surprise your sweetheart at the start of an intimate evening.
  • You can also hang the heart curtain outside the kitchen door, to make the entrance to the cocktails and hor d'oeuvres more joyful.

Express sentiments of the season by placing the hearts garland  around the border of the front door.

  • The garland is also flexible enough for you to make your own creations; shaping the garland into big hearts and placing it on the front door.
  • You can also decorate your tabletop with a garland meandering around the snacks and drinks.

Indoor Decorations

Love really is in the air with these swirly heart ceiling decorations  dangling.

  • The swirly hearts can be hung in the center of the living room -- they can even serve as Valentine's mistletoe!
  • The hearts can also hang from the corners of the table where refreshments are served.

Coming in from the cold is even more rewarding with little reminders of the occassion, like this heart-covered doormat

  • You can place the mat in front of the door, so guests can utilize its general purpose.
  • It can also be spread on the bathroom floor and serve as a holiday rug.

Make your decorations playful by scattering heart shaped balloons  around the house.

  • You can tape the connected heart balloons in the corners of the living room or around the fireplace, a perfect backdrop for taking pictures.

There is nothing like a sweetly scented candle  to set a sensual mood.

  • Dim the lights and light some candles to set a romantic mood for dinner for two.
  • Just be sure to keep all those sexy candles away from the paper decorations!

Miscellaneous

Add romance to your favorite bottle of wine by placing a heart shaped ornament  over it.

  • The ornament is also a cute gift for young adults that have just turned twenty-one.

Even your pillows  can be thrown into the holiday spirit.

  • Place a couple of these pillows on the couch and chair to make your guests more cozy; toss a couple in the bedroom and leave the rest to your imagination!

Spread holiday cheer around your home furnishings with heart doilies  on your chairs  and sofas

  • The doilies can be circulated on the coffee table and serve as little coasters.
  • Throw one on the bedspread before your honey gets there to set the mood!
