You don't have to burn the midnight oil when looking for the best hydraulic oil to grease things up.
How to Change Transmission Oil
* The first thing you have to do is jack up your vehicle. Without this step, you will be unable to change the transmission oil. Or just make it really hard to do.
* Jack or not, once you've figured out how to get under there, find the transmission oil pan.
* All you have to do is loosen the pan's upper bolts, don't remove them completely. Just leave them out partially.
* The bolts on the side and lower down can be removed.
* Try to get the pan loose. There are many ways to do this. A recommended way is to use a rubber mallet. A not recommended way is to use your fist.
* The pan is a pan, but it won't hold all of the fluid, so put something underneath it.
* The pan should still be connected to the transaxle, so once you have the oil out, you can unscrew the remaining bolts.
* Whatever oil is left should be poured into the thing you put underneath the oil pan.
* You might find a magnet in your pan. And there might a ton of metal shavings on it.
* Take the filter out and replace it.
* Put the pan back on, but in the opposite order of how you removed it.
