Classic toys like youp toy disco ball. That will light up any kid's dance party, sweet 16 or dark room! And last but not least, the light up battle tops! Those are fun to watch duke it out.
Lite Brite
If you were one of the lucky ones to have a Lite Brite as a kid you understand that this is almost like a rite of passage for the right-brained creative types. It will nurture imagination, art appreciation, and it just looks cool because it's colorful and you can use it in the dark! There great thing about Lite Brite is that you can buy refills and replacements for it so you don't get bored by reusing the same pieces over and over. There are pages with designs to replicate that show where to place each colored peg. Those come in series of different themes like zoo animals, vehicles, dinosaurs, the circus, underwater creatures, and many more. There are also packages of replacement pegs and sets of different colored pins. It's pretty much a free realm kind of toy. Just be sure that you keep an eye on it because it tends to overheat. This is a toy that should be supervised when younger kids play with it. There is the classic Lite Brite and several newer versions, such as the flatscreen Lite Brite, Lite Brite cube, travel Lite Brite, and neon paint spinning Lite Brite. Even though, that last one could get messy, it's definitely awesome.
Expanding Swords
To be perfectly honest, you might just as many adults who love these toys as children. Star Wars fans everywhere appreciate the lightsaber replicas with noise effects. If you're not that big into Star Wars, you can go for one of the more generic swords. They're cool too and come in multiple colors, mostly striped. These swords are made with extending pieces that fold up when you're done playing with them so they'll fit neatly in the closet or toy box.
Random But Awesome Thingamabobs
There are so many varieties of entertainment lighting. They don't necessarily qualify as toys in the classic understanding of the word but they're often used for kids' rooms. These are things like those glowdark planetarium lights, stars, moons, police beacon lights, sound effect flashlights, those fiber optic bristle light, and those flat screens with the electric bolts that follow your finger (sometimes they're called Lumin Disks). These are purely fun and silly and offer entertainment for your kid's friends when they come over.
