Kids can go through obsessive little phases, even when it comes to toys. Some kids like dinosaurs, some are really into cars or trains, and some kids lose their minds over robots. Below is a guide to robot action figures, sure to make your little one blow a gasket.
Action Fun
Most robot action figures take a humanoid shape, with decorative gears or other mechanical embellishments, and are known to some as mech, zords or bots. These toys are frequently television or cartoon merchandise, used to battle out climactic scenes, in between learning lessons about the importance of team work. Think fighting robots, like those seen in Transformers, Voltron or Power Rangers. You also have action figures based on popular robot characters, like Bender, WALL-E and R2D2. If it actually has gears and requires batteries, that's more of an actual robot than a robot action figure; action figures are mostly fun, movable plastic pieces.
Action Features
That said, robot action figures can have some pretty cool features. You can get a lot of the fun of a robot from them, without all the hot-wire robot mess.
