A throttle position sensor is a new, aftermarket part which is mounted to the throttle body to monitor the position of the throttle. Once the position is determined, it sends a signal to the engine control unit (ECU) as an input to its control system. If the throttle position sensor goes bad this could cause poor/erratic running engine with little or no engine power. The throttle position sensor helps greatly in regulating various engine and vehicle operations such as:
