Spring Clothes for Kids

Winter break is over and the kids are moving full steam ahead with homework, sports  and school plays.  But just because they're busy, this doesn't mean they can't look their best.  With spring fast approaching, warmer air is on the move, and so are hot trends for children's seasonal clothes  Check out some of fashion-forward, kid-friendly ideas  for spring  color, style, print and beyond.

Funky Footwear

Spring isn't all about sunshine and flowers; you need some rain to get things blooming. That's why fun rainboots  are all the rage, for girls especially.

Tricked out Nikes  are a throw-back to the 80's. Build your own or scour the shelves for neon colors and shiny metallics. Pair them with a fitted pair of denims for boys or leggings for girls to create a bold statement.

Want to go for something a bit more old-school? Converse sneakers  are back, but not just in their old-standby color. They've moved beyond black to bold shades and prints, in both high and low-top.

Bold Colors

As with many current trends, they're rooted in fashions from previous decades. Tie dye  is the latest blast from the past, re-vamped for bathing suits (it's never too early to start buying) and accessories for boys and girls.

Turquoise  is big for everything from dresses--maybe for the spring fling--to purses, hair accessories and lightweight cardigans.

Yellow  is another bold color that will make a statement this spring. Try donning a hoodie--layering is key in springtime--sneaker or new bookbag in yellow for boys.

Logo Tees

Tees that make a statement  are becoming more popular as youth get involved in politics and community outreach. Tees exercising freedom of speech are flooding the shelves because kids want the 'rents to remember that they have a voice too!

Vintage-inspired tees  add a touch of style with long sleeve cotton prints underneath or a hoodie over-top.

Graphic tees  work great with those tricked out Nikes to create a fun, urban edge. Styles for boys and girls include bold colors and 80's splatter prints.

Large Prints

Spring means it's time to break out lightweight materials and fun prints.  And with earth-friendliness becoming a more pertinent world issue, it's being incorporated into the latest trends for kids and aduls.

Try cotton sundresses  and skirts  with botanical prints for girls.

Try floral swim trunks  or foliage inspired t-shirts  for boys.

And don't forget the accessories, from shoes  to purses  and totes
