If you're a tennis player, you've probably experienced some major pain in your wrist or elbow from when you play without a vibration dampener, or when it jumps off from your racquet's strings. Vibration dampeners are particular tennis accessories that minimize the effect of vibration felt from when you hit a tennis ball. Although, they might sometimes make your strings feel stiffer or tighter, you should always wear one to prevent wrist or elbow tendinitis.
Vibration dampeners are placed at the bottom of the racquet's head on the strings, above the neck of the racquet. Put a dampener on one or two horizontal strings above the racquet's frame. Dampeners might be difficult to put on at first because they are new. It is easier if you slip one side of the dampener onto a first vertical string and then squeeze down to slip in the other side onto the closest vertical string.
Remember that ''rubber'' vibration dampeners will help reduce string vibration and shock, not racquet vibration or shock. However, you can attempt to reduce both string and racquet vibration and shock by investing in a heavier racquet or adding weight to the one you are using currently.
