It's time to take revenge on all your friends and mortal enemies, and shoot them with painful paintballs in all their critical areas. It may be against the rules to shoot people in the face, but I won't tell. Just make sure you don't forget your pressure tank, otherwise you'll be the one getting hit in the face. Also make sure to take proper care of it so it doesn't jam up.
Choosing a Tank
Before you purchase a paintball tank, you have to choose which type of compressed gas you want in the tank. The two most common types are carbon dioxide, CO2, and high pressured air (HPA), or nitrogen. Lets take a look at how each one works.
Carbon dioxide is compressed into a liquid. However, the liquid must be converted gas in order for the gun to work. Energy causes the tank to cool as heat expands and turns the liquid into gas. However, if the marker (paintball gun) does not have a anti-siphon tube or the tank is shaken while firing, liquid CO2 may enter the marker. This is the main drawback to these tanks. However, they are safe and reliable and easy to refill. It is the most common choice among players.
HPA tanks always use gas, meaning there will be no variation in pressure and you will have better accuracy during rapid fire. This is a better option for more serious players who want better accuracy. Unfortunately, these tanks are much heavier and more expensive so don't invest in these unless you plan on paintballing every weekend.
Tank Accessories
* Remote Line - This hose attaches from the tank to the marker and allows you to keep your tank on your belt or in a backpack. This will take off some of the weight and allow you to make super stealth ninja moves and win the game!
* Regulator - This piece of equipment regulates the amount of air that enters the marker. This ultimately controls the speed of the paintball.
* Fill Stations - Allows you to refill your tank so you don't get pummeled by paintballs after you run out of fuel.
* CO2 Tank Scale - Measure how much CO2 you have left in your tank. No more wasting time guessing if your gun is about to stop working.
* Expansion Chamber - The useful device that converts your liquid CO2 into a gas.
** Size does matter when buying a chamber. The more heat the chamber can produce, the quicker the CO2 will convert to gas.
