Are you one of those people who has been switching between pairs of skis for different conditions, or someone who's just starting out? Allmountain skis. Let this guide walk you though a few of those decisions and bring you a few steps closer to your next pair of skis.
Twin Tips vs. Traditional All-Mountain
There are two main styles of all-mountain skis right now you can choose from. Once you choose your style, then choose your brand
* '''Twin Tip Skis''' are quickly becoming one of the most popular brand of skis. Originally used for free-style skiing, they've been converted by many companies to be suitable for every trail on the mountain, not just the half pipe, but are still just as maneuverable and flexible as the original style. They get their name from their appearance: instead of having the toe of the ski turn up, both the tail and the toe have the curve. Some people feel they turn a little too fast, while others feel that they turn just as easily as they want. Great for people who are just beginning to ski, this style of ski should be a strong contender for your next pair of all mountain skis.
* '''Traditional All Mountain Skis''' only have the toe turned up, but are traditionally made wider than other types of ski. This helps with balance, and the cut of the ski (wider on the toe than the tail) makes carving your turns wonderfully easy. Buying these skis a little short make skiing the trees or a bumps trail fun and easy, as most of these all mountain skis absorb shock very well.
