Ever since you were a kid, you wanted to be a pro-golfer. Sure, your parents would have been happier with astronaut or physicist or even just a neural surgeon, but you loved golf. There's nothing like being able to freely swing and hit things without breaking any windows or getting yelled at for it. Now that you are older and still living in your parents basement, watching tapes of various PGA tours over and over again, it's time to get up and start training. One day it's going to be you winning all that money, but you gotta start somewhere.
Types of Swing Trainers
* Plane Trainer: Swing plane is the club's arc during the swing. Perfecting your swing plane will help you to consistently hit the ball right on and with full strength. These trainers make sure that your wrists are cocked correctly and will force you to have the right width on your grip.
* Strength Trainer: These are often in the form of weighted irons. Since you'll be forced to swing heavier clubs than usually, your arms and wrist will become stronger and ensure a strong swing.
* Grip Trainer: There are specific strengtheners for fingers to help you get the best grip and be able to change grip easily depending on what club you are using.
* Hinge Irons: Hinged irons teach you how to swing properly without slicing the ball. If you do it wrong, the iron "breaks", but if the swing is correct it will stay straight and intact.
* Arm bands: There are band that's are place around the arms during a swing to keep you in form, so you learn position of arms and elbows as you swing.
Training Accessories
* Gloves: Gloves are always important, whether it's practice or playing. Some swing gloves have a plate inside to help keep your wrist straight so you can get a proper swing.
* Power Meters: Power meters can be placed on the shaft of clubs so you can track your progress on how much power you are swinging with.
* Practice Balls: Plastic, light weight balls are a great way to practice without worrying about breaking anything! Great for indoor practice.
