In the old days, smoothies were a luxury because of the lengthy process. Peel, grate, squeeze, and repeat if desired. Whew! That took a while, and what a mess! Then came the blender, which quelled our smoothie needs, but let's face it, even that was problematic. Ice cubes would mangle the blades, blending speeds couldn't cut it, and cleanone appliance.
