She & Him

Fans of the beautifully talented, deadpan humored Zooey Deschanel can rejoice as this actress shows off her vocal talents with guitarist M. Ward. If you're a fan of indie folk music or you just have awesome taste in music, She & Him is one band you can't pass up. Who knew that someone who tends to play deeply sarcastic and dry characters could produce such emotional and endearing music.

The Go-Getters

Actress Zooey Deschannel met her future partner in crime on the set of the movie ''The Gopower album. Instead, we hear songs of heartbreak and missed opportunities. The album takes us out of hectic present times back to the mellow, easy going feel of the Southern '50s.  After some touring and a good amount of R&R, She & Him began working on ''Volume Two'' at the end of 2008. The duo promised this album would be better than the last. Deschanel and Ward are not liars. If you enjoyed the quiet, mellow sounds of ''Volume One'', I promise this album will not disappoint. She & Him have the uncanny ability to take you out of the here and now and whisk you away to their past influences. Their style is nothing new but it's just so gosh-darn endearing and heartfelt that you can't help but love these two.

Before She & Him

Okay so you have both their albums, but it's not enough. Well, before this duo realized how awesome they are together, both were doing just fine on their own. M. Ward is not new to the indie scene and has been creating music for years. He has 7 studio albums, including ''End of Amnesia,'' ''Transistor Radio'', and ''Hold Time''. He has also worked with bands like Neko Case, Bright Eyes, and Jenny Lewis. He also teamed up with Bright Eyes singer Conor Oberst to form Monsters of Folk. If you're in the mood to compare Deschanel's acting career with her musical talent, you can check out films like ''Almost Famous'', ''Elf'', ''The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy'', and ''(500) Days of Summer''.
