A good education is the foundation of success. Yes, those overwrought inspirational songs are true: the children are our future, and teaching them well will lead to all kinds of wonderful things. Children are ripe to learn valuable lessons about the world around them provided they are given the proper tools, especially in the classroom department. The best classroom is one that allows you and your students to be comfortableage student!
Arranging the Room
Classrooms should be a highly structured environment. Make sure the flow of the room leaves easy access to the bathroom,
coat cubbies since kids will need to reach those spaces quickly.
Different activities should have their own space, to help the kids get ready for the next activity. They'll put their Listening Ears on if they're sitting in the Reading Circle, and they'll know it's time to play in the toy area and so on. Some spaces your classroom should have:
Other Furniture
The different classroom areas cover most of the furniture you need in a classroom, but if you need a basic review, you'll need desks, chairs, coat cubbies, toy cubbies, floor mats, bookshelves and, of course, a space for yourself. But that doesn't cover everything. Some classroom furniture is meant to be portable and put aside quickly, possibly shared with another classroom. Below are a few other pieces of furniture you might need.

Just because your students are old enough to not need a nap, question the whole tooth fairy thing, ordesk'>Combo desk/chairs are easy to move across a room if you need space, but they're hard to put together if you ''do'' want to do group work. Otherwise, you may find you'll still need a lot of the supplies above, especially the arts and crafts stuff. However, you'll also need some of the items listed below, which are just too advanced for kids under six (at least):
