Science Fiction TV Shows

Could there be a more wonderful and breathtaking genre than that of science fiction? Sci-fi tv shows  can open up entirely new worlds for us!  We get to know the characters and then become engaged in a fictional story that places its roots in reality. Watching every day situations being conquered by vampire slayers  or people living in outer space can completely take hold of our interest and, in most cases, form an entire subculture based around one show. See below for an overview of this unique genre.

What Makes a Stellar Science Fiction Show?

  • Special Effects: Whether it be a vampire fading into dust or a spaceship orbiting through the galaxy, every good science fiction show usually has some type of special effects Some shows opt to go all out and include a multitude of items to dazzle the eye, while other shows will have one or two effects per episode. Either way, it adds to the story and makes the plot-line that much more engaging for viewers.
  • A Hero: In some cases the hero will be more than one person, but in just about any science fiction series, a main character is working to maintain the greater good and continually fight evil. On some shows, this hero may be possessed with superpowers of his own, or he may be an ordinary seeming citizen, getting by on his wits alone.
  • Fan Groups:  Whether a show has been on for one season or ten, there are always science fiction fans out there who want to celebrate and remember their favorite series. From memorabilia  to comic books many popular sci-fi shows on and off the air have tons of products and websites dedicated especially to them.
