Ring Bearers and Page Boys

When you're getting married, you're sharing the news with your friends and family, and starting off your first day of wedded bliss with all of them in tow! If you have little ones that you want to include in your ceremony, whether as a page boy or attendant, check out our guide for some advice and the best accessories for that mini-gentleman.

Not Just a Hat

Page boys are the lads who will be bearing the rings for you and your soonbe spouse, or they'll carry the bride's train down the aisle if it's very long. Depending on the dress, you may even need more than one page boy to handle all that silk and taffeta! Including a page boy in your wedding party shouldn't be too hard. Here are some tips to consider: * Boys can be difficult to wrangle some times, but if you are definitely sure that you want to include a cute nephew or two, let them and their folks know as soon as you can. It gets them used to the idea and allows the parents to instill some discipline into their child beforehand. * Include the page boy in your wedding errands. Okay, so don't have him calling up the florist, but do take him shopping for a cute suit for himself. ** It's best to have the page boy pick what he likes. It doesn't have to be the whole suit; you could have him choose which accessories he likes. ** Chances are, giving him a say will make him feel more involved. Hopefully, feeling involved will make him feel more like behaving during the big day. ** Keep the peace, and the balance, by choosing outfits that will complement both the groom's and bride's clothing.

Lad of the RIngs

* Pick a boy who is very close to both the bride and groom. This is a very symbolic position, as the ring bearer is bringing you the items that will literally seal the deal. * You don't have to have him hold the real rings, but if you don't mind, at least have the rings sewn onto the pillow if he will be carrying one. * Don't have a very small child do the job because he might get distracted or alarmed by all of the people oohing at him. * If you can't decide who you want, you can always have more than one ring bearer. Throw in a girl, too, if you want.
