Rail Travel

It's one of the safest ways to travel  to get to your destination of choice--and some great sight-seeing is also in it for you! Rail travel  means that you will need some great travel items to keep you comfortable, organized, entertained, and clean along the way.  Whether you're traveling cross-country or only to the next town over, you will want to experience the railroads like a travel expert.

Essentials

Don't leave home without 'em!

Luggage

If you are on the railroad, you probably won't need giant suitcases unless you are traveling cross-country. When bring a substantial amount, at least one carry-on bag  is great to keep those everyday items (socks ,soap ,PJs ) close by.

Travel Organizers

Compact and efficient travel organizers keep your IDs, passports, pocket cash, and tiny maps safe and handy. A organizer wristlet keeps your things with you at all times.

Books

Whether it's books on rail travel or books for entertainment , it's always helpful to have something to keep your mind occupied during the journey. Travel books will have you all the more prepared when you arrive.

Travel Toiletries

Travel-size shampoos, conditioners, soaps, toothpaste, deodorant, contacts, face wash, etc. are necessary when traveling. Keep yourself clean (and approachable!) while traveling with toiletry cases for all your products.

Music

So when you are done checking the map, reading the book, and chatting with fellow travelers, you should just sit back and relax with some great tunes .MP3 players  can be your best friend after hours of rail travel.

Clothing Tips

Weather changes throughout different parts of the county might effect the temperature inside the train. Something could go wrong with the heating, you might catch a cold, etc.  The best way to dress would be in layers--this way, you will always be dressed appropriately no matter how hot or cold you get.

Comfortable clothing in general is always the way to go.  Having a good pair of jeans  or slacks is always a smart purchase; the same goes for shirts  made of comfortable fabrics, and quality socks  and shoes .

If you want to bring fancy clothing with you on your travels, make sure it stays stored properly away in your suitcase  and away from your sleeper compartment.
