Pruners – Tips and care
* Look for
pruners with shock absorbing bumpers that absorb shocks that occur during shearing.
* After every use dry the pruner, oil it and keep them sharp through adequate sharpening.
* A File or whetstone can be used for sharpening of
hand pruners; however saws and hedge trimmers require professional sharpening.
* If you are used to wearing
gloves in sports wear gloves while pruning too. Keep your wrists straight.
* While pruning take a posture with your feet slightly apart to strike a good balance.
* While pruning, do not stand directly under branches, for they may fall over your head.
* Handle
electric pruners carefully, for they may injure you accidentally.
