Whether you're taking a walk with an indoor pet (think rabbits and cats) or if you're crossing the Atlantic, there are animal carriers and accessories that will make the voyage that much more pleasant for your furry family member. For larger animals you'll still need to crate them for flights, but if an animal is used to being crated at home at night this won't be as big a deal. You may need to invest in a crate cover so that your pet doesn't get overstimulated by the other company on the flight. There are other travel accessories to consider if you're hiking or walking, including containers with extra food and water. At times a pet stroller or tote may be necessary.

If you're going on a road trip with your pet, you'll want to make sure you have portable water and food bowls as well as a leash for potty breaks during the trip. You may even want to carry 'pickup to make sure they not only can handle the flight but that their vaccinations are up to date as well. Also, book a flight that is as direct as possible: that way you can avoid losing Sparky on the tarmac.
