These accessories regulate the water in different ways to keep the environment just perfect for your little finned friends to swim in so you won't find them floating at the top one morning. And coming from a person who at a young age went through three goldfish in a month, that moment is never pleasant.
Aquarium Air Pumps
Air pumps in aquariums are essential to give your fish oxygen. Yes, they live in water but just like us they need oxygen to survive. Once the natural oxygen in the water runs out, there needs to be a way to replace it. That's what air pumps do. They also have many other great uses in your aquarium set up.
* They keep water fresh so that it doesn't stagnate and attract bugs.
* They are also used as a
decorations with movement.
* If a sick fish needs to be moved into it's own tank suddenly, an
air pump will keep it alive for a few days without a filter.
Some air pumps can be a lot louder than others, so make sure you get some sort of demonstration before buying especially if you keep the aquarium in the same room you sleep. You won't be getting any rest otherwise. There are also a couple of accessories needed to run it.
Air valves allow multiple connections if your pump only has one outlet and you need to power two different things.
