The lens should be of appropriate width and height to allow the player complete vision including vertical and horizontal peripheral vision. Small lenses that hamper vision may make the difference between a win and a loss of a game.
UV Protection
Many paintball players are subject to different kinds of weather. The lenses tend to fog up during colder weather and hinder vision. Thermal lenses prevent build up of fog and allow clear vision in any weather.
Tinted Lenses
Some lenses are made of tinted material instead of clear material. The tint reduces glare from the sun and increases visual perception by distinguishing various colors on the field.
Scratch Resistance
The material of the paintball lens has to be resistant to scratches to limit abrasion and make the lens long lasting.
Fit of the Lens to the Mask
Lenses are manufactured to fit specific make and models of paintball masks and in universal sizes. It is better to check if the lens will fit the paintball mask before buying.
