Chances are good you have gotten a ding or scratch on your vehicle in your lifetime. Whether it's from an exprimer'>primer.
# Clear away rust and debris with a carbon steel brush.
# Fill in the scratch with scratch remover, wax, or white out. This will make the scratch more easy to see and fill in the depression.

Dents are handled in a different way. This is when the paint is not scratched but dented inward. Many have approached their beloved car to find a mysterious golf ball shaped dent on their door. These can be fixed relatively simply.
* If you are pretty knowledgeable about auto body repair, you can get behind the metal and use an auto body hammer to knock the dent back out.
* There are several suction cups to physically pull the dent back out. These generally work on minor dents and dings.
