Oil Gasket Pumps Buying Guide

All higher capacity oil pumps.

Main Components of Oil Pumps

oil pan at the bottom of the engine which collects the oil evacuated from the engine and redirects it back to the pump.

Types of Oil Pumps

Oil Pumps are either rotor type oil pumps which are smoother, have higher capacity but are more expensive.

Oil Pump Gaskets

silicon type sealant applied during engine assembly. The shape and type of oil pump gasket used depends on the make, model, and year of the vehicle.

Engine Oil Leak

If you notice an engine oil leak it may be due to break down any engine part or weathering of gaskets or seals used in engines.   If the oil pump gasket appears melted, brittle, expanded, loose, or otherwise worn, it can be the reason for the oil leakage. Gaskets in engines wear out due to aging, heat, pressure, external elements, or a combination of these causes. A worn oil pump gasket has to be replaced to prevent further oil leakage. Replacing the worn gasket will stop further leakage.
