Envelopes are still a necessity today, even though we live in a world where communication is submitted by just a click of a button. If you opt for a traditional way to send out invitations to events or to reach out to someone, you can't do it without an envelope
What's In An Envelope?
* An envelope is an envelope. A piece of paper folded in a certain way so that you can place an item into it to mail out. Not much to it, is there?
* Not unless we're talking about greeting card envelopes. Those multifashioned, sweet hello.
* In the age of emails and evites, when the delicious wait for a greeting card or invite is eliminated in the blink of an eye, with one new message instantly sitting in your inbox waiting for your lightspeedy RSVP, you're a reverse rebel because you will still mail your cards out, whatever their purpose. Right on. But you gotta do it with a beautiful, funky, or classic greeting card envelope.
* The first commercial envelopes were created in 1876 by Madison Verde. Before that, envelopes were made by hand. Before that? I don't even know. But it wasn't til the '90's that the use of envelopes began to decline, when the Internet became widely available and email became the preferred method of communication.
* Greeting card envelopes live on, still, and the Internet is still a great resource for greeting card envelope ideas. You can find templates online to print out snazzy envelopes or find other crafty ideas to jazz them up.
