Nail Polish

Adding polish  to your nails can change your look from one week to the next and transform you from simple to sexy in two high-gloss coats. How do you choose the right brand and color?

Color Choice

The color is, of course, a matter of personal preference. Depending on the look and style you want to convey choosing a color can be critical to your decision. Keeping professional for school or work means limiting the color to pale pinks peaches corals and other neutrals. When in doubt choose clear You'll look polished (no pun intended) and professional without looking like you've over done it. For more festive occasions, brighter shades are a sure hit. Try deep reds berries and burgundies  for the holidays or a sexy weekend with your beau. Bright fuschia  and festive pinks  for when you feel like being young and flirty with your gal pals and spicy browns for when you want to heat things up.

Brands

What about the brand or type of polish? Most brands and types of polish all use the same ingredients. So what's the difference between the "super growth" and "ultra no-chip" formulas? In fact, not much. Remember that your nails are dead to begin with, so protein, formaldehyde, and other growth ingredients are not really going to make any huge difference in your nails. Also, all brands usually start to chip or crack after three or four days, except for the quick-dry formulas that might break down even faster. What you do to try and maintain and protect your nails from wear following proper application will directly determine how long your manicure will last. The price you pay for a polish won't.
