What makes Mikasa crystal so unique is that they use four different methods to make their crystal glassware. It is also the reason behind their varying prices between different collections. Hand blowing glass is the oldest, finest, and most expensive method of making glass. If you see a collection that seems pricey, you can assume the crystal was hand blown. It is also the reason you may see slight differences between your stemware. However, many of their collections use hand pressing, machine blowing, or machine pressing which allows for cheaper prices, but these collections are just as beautiful.
