Men's Wetsuits Buying Guide
High performance wetsuits let you dive underwater without a worry. When you buy
men’s wetsuits, besides the size and stitching, you should keep the construction of the wet suit in mind.
Construction of a Wetsuit
* Wetsuits are made of
neoprene which is a stretchable and sturdy waterproof material. They provide the necessary flexibility and stretch when scuba diving and snorkeling.
* Wetsuits also contain foam padded neoprene to provide protection.
* Men’s wetsuits are available in thicknesses varying from
6mm.
* If the thickness of neoprene is high, then the wetsuit has a higher ability to shield you from cold weather.
* The zippers in the wetsuit let you wear them. Sometimes wetsuits can be worn directly over the neck. Whether you prefer
wetsuit with zippers or the latter; find out what is comfortable for you.
Types of Men’s Wetsuits
The three major classifications of men’s wetsuits are:
* '''Full Suits''' :
Full suits cover the entire body area from chin to ankles. Deep sea scuba diving warrants full suits.
* '''Spring Suits''': Instead of covering the entire body,
spring suits have half sleeves and are knee length only. Spring suits are made for water sports and superficial snorkels.
* '''Shorties''' :
Shorties can be worn over wetsuits to supplement them, providing the extra warmth in cold weather. They can also be worn exclusively when the weather is hot.
