James Cameron

James Cameron has nothing to prove. When you're responsible for as many big name blockbusters as he is, you can pretty much make whatever movie you want.

The Hits

These are the popcorn ready movies you watch with your friends, family, or special someone. You got your romance, your action, and your laughs all together. * ''Terminator'': Cameron's first big hit. Terminator is predominantly a scionly Arnold Schwarzenegger. * ''Aliens'': After Lieutenant Ripley blasted out the first alien, you think she'd have had enough. Unfortunately for her, she got stuck with even more of them in this action-based sequel. * ''Terminator 2'': This film is often included in Top 100 Films of All Time lists. Cameron started using modern CG for special effects and blew audiences away with it. Talk about foreshadowing. * ''Titanic'': We all know this one. Once again, Cameron relies on his special effects team to stun audiences, and it was quite a daunting taskJames Cameron is just as unsinkable. * ''Avatar'': This newbie broke the barrier and set a new standard for not only CGI but also 3D. Using actors and motionday cameras and computers to the test. Now we have 3D TVs and 3D video games. What's next? 3D real life? Oh, wait. That already exists.

Cameron's Take On "Real Life"

The world is never enough. Because creating some of the best box office results ever isn't enough, clearly, Cameron decided it would be good to educate people, too. Hence, you get this documentary. * ''Ghosts of the Abyss'': Before Avatar, Cameron was already playing with the idea of 3D. Ghosts of the Abyss was a re-visitation of the Titanic, but in documentary style. It was shot and intended for IMAX.

The Under Appreciated

These movies are actually quite good, though they don't get as much attention as they should. You can find them on TV fairly often if you flip through the channels. * ''The Abyss'': This sci-fi flick begs to ask the question, "What do we really know about life on Earth?" And if the answers it gives us mean anything, well, we don't know jack. * ''True Lies'': This is an odd mix of comedy, drama and action about a spy and his family. I guess that makes this a dramedaction? Well, in any case. It's another one of Arnold's fun flicks. Those can't ever go wrong.

TV

Cameron is not just popular for his endeavors in movies. He created the TV show ''Dark Angel'' starring Jessica Alba and his Terminator movie series spawned ''Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.'' He's also made cameos in shows such as Entourage where he faux-directed a film version of Aquaman.
