Individual Sports

Sometimes, individual achievement is what really gets us going. In general, this grouping of sports can provide great frustration and even greater reward. These are sports of precision in which perfection takes years of practice. Nevertheless, with a little assistance, a novice can often find enjoyment without immediate success. If the idea of challenging yourself excites you, don't hesitate to check out some of these sports.

Dance

Dance is as much of a sport as it is an art form. There are many different forms of dance, including, but not limited to ballet, hip-hop cheerleading, and swing dancing

Equestrian

Equestrianism is any activity involving riding horses. There are many forms of equestrian competition, such as horse racing rodeo horse driving, and show jumping.

Ice and Figure Skating

Ice and figure skating is the art of dancing on ice. Many people love to go out on the frozen pond and skate around, while a select few train their whole lives to compete on the biggest stage at the Olympics

Golf

Golf is a leisurely game that takes a lot of discipline and practice to perfect.  It can be equally enjoyable to play alone or with a group of friends.

Gymnastics  is an individual sport that requires coordination, flexibility, athleticism, strength, and grace.  The definition of gymnastics is shapes and lines in motion.

Inline Skating

Inline skating is a fun substitute for ice skating and can be enjoyed anywhere you can find a hard, smooth surface.  Most skate for recreation and fitness, but there are also competitive levels you can participate in.  There are aggressive inline skating and inline speed skating  associations.

Cycling

Cycling is another individual activity commonly enjoyed on the recreational level, but it's hardly limited to it.  Professional cycling  is very popular worldwide.  The Tour de France won seven times by Lance Armstrong is one of the biggest spectator sports in the world.

Hunting

Hunting is a recreational sport that can be performed for fun, trade, or food, but is also a form of wildlife management, which can prevent overpopulation of certain species that don't have known predators in the area.

Fitness

Fitness is any activity performed for the purpose of bettering one's body.  Fitness includes, but is not limited to, weightlifting, cardio, recreational sports, and stretching activities such as yoga.  Being physically active for just 30 minutes a day can do wonders for your health, state of mind, and general well-being.

Bowling

Weight Training

Running

Like weightlifting, running can be competitive in itself or a form of fitness training.  Going for a light jog every day will burn the fat like no other activity can.  More serious runners can compete in Track and Field, cross-country or some even train for marathons
