How to Shape Your Eyebrows

If you're not interested in getting your eyebrows done professionally, it's easy and fun to tackle the project on your own. A bit of personal history: I've always had thick, intimidating eyebrows, an inheritance from the eastern European blood on my father's side. Sometime late into my high school years, I discovered tweezers, and didn't look back until I was a senior in college. One day that winter, I looked into the mirror at my skinny, penciland finally only picked them up to render basic eyebrow grooming. It's been that way ever since. Now, my basic approach toward plucking is to work with what I have, but to keep them reasonable and neat. I find it useful to stick by these rules of thumb when tweezing to avoid looking like a caveman: # Eyebrows should not extend past the inner corner of the eye.  # Clear the space between both brows. If you have a unibrow (or a "jewnibrow," as I affectionately call mine), you will look much better with two nice, neat, defined brows. Clear that space up! # To find your best eyebrow shape naturally, refer to the image at the right: Lining a pencil in conjunction with segments A, B and C indicates where the eyebrow should start, arch, and end.  # Always pluck hairs in the direction in which they grow. # Hold skin taut as you pluck. # To minimize pain, tweeze after showeringthe hair follicle will slide out more easily. '''CAUTION''': EYEBROW HAIR DOES NOT ALWAYS GROW BACK, so it's vital that you slow down before tweezing and figure out what it is exactly that you want to do.
