Checking Tightrope

Every checkbook and math is involved to complete the balancing, but it's simple, we promise. If you're still unsure of what to do, don't worry. Follow these steps and your bank account will thank you.  * Enter any and all transactions made into the appropriate boxes. This means whatever you took out in ATM withdrawals, bill payments, debit card and documented.  * Every month you will receive a statement from your bank that details your transactions over a certain period of time. Compare this statement to whatever you recorded on your checking balance slip. Pair up items that match and note which don't. This is an important step most people forget to do.  * If there are new additions to your account, such as ATM withdrawals and fees, deposits, and new checks, add them.  * Subtract from your account any deductions that were previously not recorded. * Once the previous steps are completed, your checkbook will be balanced!
