Did you ever think about how cool the Caterpillar from coals are placed on top.
* Hose: The hose is the flexible tube where the smoke is drawn out through a mouthpiece at the other end. The long length of the hose allows for the smoke to cool down before inhalation.
* Body: The body of the hookah is a hollow tube. The bowl sits on top and the water jar is attached to the bottom.
* Purge Valve: Many hookahs have a purge valve which is connected to the water jar. The valve is used to purge stale smoke that has not been used for a long time.
* Water Jar: Water and/or fruit juice are contained in the jar. Smoke passes through the body of the hookah and down into the jar where it bubbles through the water, cooling and humidifying the smoke before it is inhaled.
* Tray: A tray is placed below the bowl to catch falling ashes.
Hookahs
Hookahs come in a variety of colors, designs, patterns, and sizes. They can be as little as $40 for a small one or as much as $300 for a specialty one. The more hoses a hookah has, the more money it will cost. If you're planning on only smoking with friends, have them all chip in for one with multiple hoses. As with anything you buy, the more expensive it is, the better the quality tends to be.
Tobacco/Shisha
There are hundreds of different flavors and combinations you can use in your hookah. Use fruit juice as your base to add more flavor and produce a thicker smoke. Don't be afraid to mix flavors like chocolate and cherry or strawberry and mint. The possibilities are endless! Here's a list of some of the most popular shisha brands, and of course all of them come in a variety of flavors. From personal experience, mixing flavors tastes incredibly better.
