If you love crafting, then make sure to keep a supply of art glue or paste at hand. From kid's art projects to scrapbooking, there a wide variety of glues and paste to suit any creative project.
Glues and Pastes
The main difference between glue and paste is that paste is thicker and sometimes flakes off when dry. That said, glue tends to be more popular than paste amongst crafters. The most popular art glue is traditional Elmers: it's simple, cheap and great for projects with kids. Glue sticks are a great no-mess option. Tacky glue works on both fabric and paper. For scrapbooking or photos, try glue foil, squares or dots. You'll also find all natural glue that works on everything from fabric to wood. Stick and peel glue allows projects to be stuck and rehung. Hot glue works well on heavy duty craft projects. For covering furniture in pictures try decoupage. And if you want to add glitz to your craft project, try glitter glue.
As for paste, you'll find standard paste from Elmers. There is also paper mache paste available, as well as art clay oil paste to fix crafts after firing.
Accessories
Let's face it, glue can be sticky. There are a variety of products available to help you and your little ones avoid messes during craft projects. Glue brushes are a great way to apply glue to projects. If your budget is tight try using popsicle sticks or wooden tongue depressors instead. For glue dots or precise lines try using a glue glider. Hot glue requires a glue gun, and there are both large and small sizes available in either metal or plastic. Make sure when doing projects with kids or projects that include hot glue, that you put down newspaper or plastic in order to avoid ruining furniture.
