Ginkgo biloba is available in tablet, capsule, liquid extract, and nut form. Hailing from the Far East, this plant has been known to have many mystical properties (and some practical ones too, of course!). While the Chinese have been known to believe that using Ginkgo nuts to make congee has some aphrodisiac potential, most folks in the West turn to ginkgo for memory help. Ginkgo is not cure-all for memory disorders, but ingesting some each day can help keep you more alert.
Health Benefits
One of the more proven health benefits that ginkgo biloba is supposed to be responsible for is increased blood flow. This may have a lot to do with the argument that ginkgo improves your memory and mental faculties. Stimulating blood flow keeps you limber both mentally and physically. You'll both be more alert in terms of thinking and getting your limbs to hop to it. Ginkgo is a great thing to take before a long plane ride if you're concerned about blood clots, as well. It's also a great extract to consider if you want to block those nasty, cancer-causing free radicals that seem to plague our daily life.
