Home Improvement Pools and Spas Pool Safety Products
There are various pool safety products that can make your at home pool or spa a bit safer. It seems that young ones are specifically at risk, but this is usually because there isn't the necessary attentive supervision. Flotation devices, pool fences, and childrens wristbands seem to be some of the best ways to make pools less hazardous, but nothing replaces the safety allowed by proper supervision.
General Pool Safety Tips
* Purchase an above ground pool fence to keep the pool more contained so no one hops over the side, or falls out. Fence your inground pool, too, with latches that are too high for any little ones to reach.
* While pool covers are helpful in keeping people out when the pool is not in use, don't ever leave it partially on if people are swimming. If someone somehow gets trapped underneath, there's your pool hazard once again.
* Learn CPR and have a CPR kit on hand: Prima Medical CPR kit comes with a mask that fits for children.
* Keep your patio furniture far away from the pool so that children don't get any fancy ideas of using the furniture as additional jumping boards or ladders to get into the pool.
* Remove ladders or steps into an above ground pool when it's not in use.
* Keep pool rescue equipment near to the pool; such as throw ropes, CPR kits, or life preservers.
