Network Operations Engineer
ShopWiki is seeking strong Network Operations Engineers with experience operating a globally deployed infrastructure in 24/7 environment. Network Operations Engineers are responsible for maintaining and operating our global infrastructure 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Other responsibilities include performing top-level troubleshooting on globally deployed infrastructure. You will also work with Network Engineers, infrastructure vendors and developers to perform analysis of hardware, software, and network problems to expedite problem resolution.
Responsibilities:
Serve as primary escalation point for identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving network problems
Create tools and scripts for monitoring global infrastructure
Perform system administration on global infrastructure
Perform software installations to the network
Solve complex issues related to various components of our infrastructure
Develop and document procedures for problem resolution
Manage troubleshooting to isolate network performance issues as they arise
Provide notification to the company during network issues
Work closely with Network Engineers and System Administrators regarding technology and hardware upgrades
Participate in an on-call rotation
Requirements:
Strong network engineering experience - router configuration, IP tables, BGP
Solid understanding of advanced networking and Internet principles, especially DNS, HTTP, and TCP/IP
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
5 years experience in system administration, network engineering
Solid Linux administrative experience
Knowledge of shell scripting, and command line tools
