Make Your Own Decor

With a little time, some creativity, and the help of the almighty Martha Stewart (check out her website for more awesome ideas), you can add some Halloween cheer to the room. Here are a few simple ideas to get you into the scaring spirit: * A bottle of fake blood can go a long way. Place some on your taper candles and other Halloween decor. Just be careful before you go squirting it on the couch or your everyday decor. * You can actually make your own cobwebs by using a glue gun. Just put a hot glue pad behind the object you want to cover and squirt a blob onto the pad. Quickly pull the gun up and over the decorations. * Make a simple center piece with a bag of small skulls or dye eggs with black tea bags to create "rotten" eggs. * Attach a paper silhouette to a piece of wire and wrap it around a candle holder. When you light the candles, it will cast a giant shadow against the wall. Just make sure the paper is much higher than the flame! * Don't waste money buying specimen jars. Simply fill a clear jar or bowl with water, add a few drops of food coloring, and place a cabbage head, cauliflower, grapes, or celery root. Voila! Instant "body parts" in a jar!
